The Fiji Airways Menβs National 7s Team has lost to Canada 26-21 in their second pool match of the Vancouver 7s.
The national side now has to beat France in their last pool match to make the Cup quarterfinals.
Canada started the match on a high scoring the first try within the first 30 seconds of the match.
Napolioni Bolaca replied to score Fijiβs first and they took the lead 7 points 5.
From kick-off Canada to score their second try to lead 12-7.
Asaeli Tuivuaka got Fijiβs second try as Fiji led 14-12 at half-time.
Canada was reduced to 6 men after one of their players was sin-binned for a deliberate knock-on.
Vilimoni Botitu was sin-binned for a dangerous tackle and Canada scored two tries to lead 26-14.
Alasio Naduva scored a consolation try as Fiji lost 26-21.
Fiji will now need to beat France to book its place in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
Fiji will play France at 2.33pm today in their final pool match.
