Business Assistance Fiji is made up of private sector organisations that will support government in assessing all applications for the concessional finance support loans.
The organisations that make up Business Assistance Fiji will also mentor and provide advice to companies and individuals applying for the loan.
The Fiji Institute of Accountants, the Fiji Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation and Women in Business make up the Business Assistance Fiji body that will be tasked with assessing applications for the concessional finance support loans.
A first in working with government to help offer a rescue package for businesses affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
The secretariat will also have the ability to assist the applicants in cash-flow projections and mentoring.
The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service like the rest of the organisations involved will be offering their services for free.
These organisations will work in collaboration with government – an approach that has never taken place before.
