On Saturday 25th July 2020, several members of the Blake family gathered with their friends to hold a morning tea in support of the Fiji Cancer Society at the Royal British Legion in Domain.
The funds raised from the morning tea would be used to help the Fiji Cancer Society to continue to provide their much-needed support services for Fijian families affected by cancer.
Family representative Rupert Boulton said, “Bushells Fiji’s Biggest Morning Tea is one of the Fiji Cancer Society’s main fundraising occasions. We would like to encourage other families, friends and workmates to host their own event”. He also acknowledged the support by business houses and individuals who generously contributed towards the event: Prodesigns; Pure Fiji; TheCakeryFj and Michelle Neeling of Traveling Light Photography for capturing the event proper.
The event was catered by Larisa AhSam of Larisa’s Alfresco Dining and styled by Alice Hunter of Viti Events.
Events & Fundraising Officer for Fiji Cancer Society Anthea Sami was on hand to receive the donations on behalf of the Society. Presenting the funds on behalf of the Blake family and friends was Mrs. Tessa MacKenzie who said she had friends who had succumbed to cancer and those who had survived and went on to live life again and enjoy life.
The event began with a minute’s silence honoring cancer survivors and remembering those who have lost their battle.
