Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has commended the work conducted by all officers during the Election Period.
Qiliho said operations has been very busy and demanding these past few months but with proper planning, they have successfully been able to conduct the overlapping National events.
Since the Writ of Elections was issued on the 1st of October, Police officers have been deployed for various duties leading up to the return of the Writ yesterday afternoon.
Up to 2000 officers were deployed for both the pre-polling, Election day and pre-polling operations.
Officers from the Police Special Response Unit will continue to Guard Ballot boxes at the Fijian Elections Office Warehouse in Laucala Beach while the remaining officers who were deployed for the 2018 Election duties will return to normal routine Operations.
