The body of a teenage boy has been recovered in Nadera by a Joint Search Team after he was swept away by strong currents this afternoon.
According to an eye witness- Josefa Bulavakarua, the boy had been playing with a group of friends in a ground near Duvula Road, when he went to retrieve the ball and slipped near a culvert and was swept away by strong currents.
His body was later retrieved by a group of boys downstream near a mangrove swamp at the Moala Settlement. It is believed the Boy was from Vanua Levu and had come to spend the holidays in Suva.
Parents and Guardians are once again reminded to be Vigilant at all times when it comes to the safety of their Children as we approach the School Holidays.
