Work on Fiji’s Black rock military training center is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

De fence Minister Inia Seruiratu has outlined the purpose and progress of the center during questioning in Parliament.

He says work began in 2009 and it’s being completed with funding from Australia.

Seruiratu says the center will be used by Fiji and the region for the training of peacekeepers, and training for humanitarian and disaster relief.

He further says that we have an obligation in the enforcement, restoration and maintenance of global peace and this is why as a country need to have a proper facility in which our men and women can be trained.

The Minister says that Fiji’s police force will also be able to use the center.
