These were the words of Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Hon. Veena Bhatnagar as she officiated at the Celebration of Maha Shivrati held at the Bramha Kumari’s Rajyoga Meditation Centre in Suva yesterday.
We need the power to focus, to concentrate, to realise; to soul search and Maha Shivratri gives us an opportunity to experience the independence of the source of creation which is the seed of every human being, added Hon. Bhatnagar.
Maha Shivratri is the day to honor and celebrate Lord Shiva—honor life and celebrate existence. Most people spend the day of Maha Shivratri in prayer, meditation and celebration. Devotees of Shiva stay awake the entire night on this auspicious night of Shivratri.
Some perform pooja, chant Vedic mantras or Rudram as well as practice sadhana and meditation.
These sacred practices bestow a sense of peace within us and oneness with the world.Members of the Bramha Kumari’s Rajyoga Meditation centre celebrated the event with dramas, dances and poetry to commemorate the festivities of Maha Shivratri.
The event was organised by the center’s National Coordinator BK Shanta.Maha Shivratri will be celebrated on the 11th of March.
