A six member delegation from the Beijing Police University led by the Dean of the Beijing College paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho at the Fiji Police Headquarters in Laucala.

The delegation is in Fiji for a three-day visit and will hold discussions with the Fiji Police Training Division and will visit the Forensic and the Police Special Response Units.

Since 2013, a total of 54 Police officers have undergone training and further studies at the Beijing Police University.

This is apart from trainings offered by the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Public Security at other affiliated institutions.

The Commissioner of Police said the Fiji Police’s engagement with the Ministry of Public Security was a very important one considering that the People’s Republic of China’s support to the Fijian Government has been steadfast throughout the years.
