Basketball Fiji, like other sporting federations has had to cancel all events in accordance with Government’s guidelines and restrictions on COVID-19.
With hope that life will soon return to normal, the Federation plans to go ahead with some events this year.
With several events planned this year, including two international tournaments, Basketball Fiji hopes when restrictions are lifted they will be able to host tournaments that have been deferred.
Basketball Fiji’s Program Coordinator, William Peter says there are chances of hosting games that were cancelled, to later this year.
Peter said should Government lift restrictions on sporting activities, Basketball Fiji will put in place a two-week-buffer for everyone before they start normal programmes resume.
With some non-contact sports given the green light to resume, Basketball Fiji is hopeful that contact-sports like Basketball will return to all courts soon.
