Fijian Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama attended the opening of the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit at the 73rd United Nations General Assembly held in New York, 24 September, 2018.

Prime Minister Bainimarama was accompanied by Fiji’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr. Satyendra Prasad, Ambassador to the United States H.E Solo Mara, Permanent Secretary to the Office of the Prime Minister, Yogesh Karan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Secretary Mr Esala Nayasi.

He also attended two other side events before the opening which included the Unveiling of the Nelson Mandela Statue at UN HQ and the Call to Action on the World Drug Problem meeting.
