A Leadership Fiji dialogue was held this morning to address and raise awareness on issues surrounding drugs and substance abuse.
While speaking at the National Dialogue on Substance Abuse at the University of the South Pacific in Suva this morning, Minister for Defence and National Security, Inia Seruiratu said that it bothers him as a parent and as a Fijian, the incidence of drug abuse in schools and also amongst the youth.
“Awareness is very critical and people need to be aware, we need a whole national approach to this problem. Everybody has to be aware and has to show responsibility because it is critical for Fiji if we want to address substance abuse,” Minister Seruiratu said.
The dialogue is a full day event with various speakers from relevant Government ministries and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) talking on the theme ‘Substance Abuse, Let’s talk about it – Finding a Fijian Solution’.
