The Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum co-hosted a workshop with the Canadian Ambassador for Climate Change, Patricia Fuller, on ‘Elevating the Ocean-Climate Nexus’.

The workshop was facilitated by Nigel Purvis, the President of Climate Advisers, a research and policy based organisation in Washington DC.

“Climate change and ocean issues are vital to the lives of all Fijians. It is essential that Fiji continues to lead on these issues and seek to better integrate and mainstream oceans into the climate change discourse.” said the A-G.

The workshop participants included representatives from Canada, Chile, European Union, Fiji, Mexico, Norway, Republic of the Marshall Islands, United States of America, Ocean Conservancy, Conservation International, Climate Vulnerable Forum and the Special Advisor ER to the United Nations Secretary-General on nature-based solutions, David Nabarro.
