In a first for Fiji, ANZ today announced it will remove minimum spend requirements on all its EFTPOS terminals from 3 December 2019, to help Fiji transition to a cashless economy.
This follows ANZ’s decision to remove EFTPOS, Internet Banking and Bill Payment fees for retail customers in December 2018, and local ATM fees for all Visa cardholders in May 2019.
ANZ Fiji Country Head, Saud Minam, said ANZ is pleased to remove the minimum spend on ANZ EFTPOS payments, and we hope other EFTPOS providers will follow.
“We want to promote a cashless economy and provide better, more affordable access to digital services to Fijians. Now, customers can buy a samosa or muffin without worrying about having cash in their pockets.”
“As a market leader, ANZ Fiji will continue to drive our digital transformation agenda for our customers,” Minam said.
