Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Rosy Akbar officially launched French language classes at Ratu Navula College,Nadi this morning.
This is the third school to receive these classes.
The Minister urged students to take advantage of learning the language, one of the most spoken in the world.
“This will open new horizons for you all and economic opportunities, as well as increase your chances of entering the global market,” she said.
Close to 20 Year 9 and Year 11 have begun taking French classes by teacher, Marine Plante.
The launch was attended by the French Ambassador, Sujiro Seam and Alliancefrancaise Suva Director, Thomas Feldstein.
A minute’s silence was also observed to remember the victims of the Al Noor Mosque shooting in Christchurch, New Zealand on March 15, and college students and other victims who died in the Nabou car crash on August 6 2018.
