Eveready Taxis is the first company in Fiji to install and accept ATM cards for payment of taxi fares.
This was after the launch of the ANZ POS with Eveready Taxis by Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at the ANZ House in Suva this morning.
The A-G highlighted that the Fijian Government has been focused on increasing the number of electronic transactions in the country as it provides not only convenience to everyday consumers but also helps the financial system.
“Whatever the fare you would want to pay through your card, you can pay on the machine even if the fare is $3 as there is no minimum.”
More taxi companies are urged to install this services in their taxis as it reduces theft.
