More than 100 #Fijians who are part of the Pacific Labour Scheme were today farewelled at the #Nadi International Airport.

Farewelling the 172 Fijians, Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted that the trip is a historical one given the current circumstances that the world is facing.”

It is critically important for you to understand that you are going under not a very normal certain circumstances.”

In the same way there are certain protocols you will have to follow while in Australia and I urge you to follow them.

“The A-G acknowledged the Australian Government for its continuous assistance including the various stakeholders involved in the scheme.

These workers will be engaged with PLS employer – Regional Workforce Management (RWM) and will work for 3 years in the meatworks industry.

The PLS employer, RWM have employed a total of 193 Fijians to date in the meatworks industry in various locations around rural Australia.
