Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum broke ground for British American Tobacco’s (BAT) Leaf Excellence project in Nadi.
He commended the company for building resilience through its new $9 million project, which will stockpile tobacco and ensure solid retention throughout severe weather.
“I thank BAT for this important initiative and for the investment, which shows confidence in the Fijian economy. It shows confidence in the Government’s policies and also shows confidence in the people who work for this organization.”
The A-G noted the project’s importance in continuing to provide livelihoods for farmers throughout cyclones and other severe weather.
