The Asian Development Bank has given 900 thousand dollars towards Government’s Tropical Cyclone Harold relief efforts.
Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum signed the Grant Agreement known as the ADB Asia Pacific Disaster Response Fund.
Funds provided by the Asian Development Bank will assist government provide relief to people affected by Tropical Cyclone Harold.
The cyclone devastated parts Kadavu, Lau, Vatulele and Yasawa last month.
Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the money will also be used on reducing risk and rebuilding efforts.
Government is collaborating with ADB on other development programs including the 2020 to 2021 budget.
The grant will be used to provide immediate relief such as water, shelter, sanitary kits, medicine and other essential needs.
