About $FJ3.5 million has been paid out to a total of 60 families and individuals in compensation for personal injuries and deaths arising from motor vehicle accidents by the Accident Compensation Commission of Fiji.
ACCF Chief Executive Officer, Parvez Akbar says the organization’s no-fault scheme is designed to remove unreasonable hurdles that victims of accidents previously faced in pursuit of compensation.
Akbar adds that this included lengthy and costly legal battles, the burden of proving fault, unreasonable exclusions and uncertainty of outcomes.
