A 27year old man residing at Vunikoba, Savusavu was arrested following a search conducted by an officer based at the Rabi Community Post after he was found acting in a suspicious manner whereby two parcels of dried leaves believed to be marijuana was discovered inside a load of bread.

 The suspect is currently in custody at the Rabi
Community Post as investigations continue.

Meanwhile six people were arrested in Suva towards the end
of the week after they were allegedly found with drugs believed to be
marijuana.

Two men were arrested at the Suva Market on Thursday by
officers on beat patrol after they were seen to be acting in a suspicious
manner.

The first suspect is a 30year old man residing in Lami who
was found with several sachets containing dried leaves while the second suspect
is a 40year old man also residing in Lami was found with 16 sachets of dried
leaves all believed to be marijuana.

On Friday two men were arrested in Toorak following separate
raids.

The first accused a 47year old man residing in Vatuwaqa was
searched where clear plastic zip lock bags containing dried leaves believed to
be marijuana was allegedly found in his possession. 

The second accused a 37year old man was searched whereby
officers found dried leaves believed to be marijuana allegedly in his
possession.

Another two arrests were made at the Suva Market on Friday
afternoon by officers on beat patrol. The first suspect a farmer from Nauluvatu
Village, Naitasiri was searched where they found dried leaves believed to be
marijuana allegedly in his possession.

The second suspect a 23year old also from Nauluvatu Village,
Naitasiri was searched and sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana was
allegedly found on his possession.

In the Southern Division two men and a woman were arrested
following a search conducted with the K9 team along Nakauvadra Road,
Delainavesi where sachets of dried leaves and clear plastic containing white
crystals all believe to be illicit drugs were found inside the vehicle they
were travelling in on Wednesday night.

The two men have been charged with one count of unlawful
possession of illicit drugs while the woman who is pregnant is admitted at the
Colonial War Memorial Hospital.

Meanwhile in the Western Division, a team of officers found
green plants believed to be marijuana growing inside a sugarcane field along
the Kings Road, Nanuku.

Investigations continue.

While a 37year old fisherman was searched and arrested on
Friday in Ba where officers discovered dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
