In 2012, there were 32 suicidal deaths.

This according to the World Health Organisation.

Out of the 32, 22 were males and 10 were females.

While speaking at the inaugural conference yesterday on “Come Play With Me”, Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa said six hundred twenty people committed suicide over the last five years.

And 579 people were reported for attempted suicides.

Relationship failure has been noted as the main reason why people commit suicide and attempted suicide.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions statistics for the rape and sexual offences for July 2018 showed that of the 14 cases, 10 were children.

From January 2017 to June 2018, there were 308 victims of rape and sexual offences.

199 of these were in children.
