French Ambassador to Fiji, Jean-François Fitou says its vital that those families who were affected by COVID 19, receive the help they need immediately.
He made this comment while handing over $50,000 worth of food kits to various non-government organizations.
While handing over the ration packs to The Salvation Army, Solo Moms Project and Being Helping Hands Fiji, the French Ambassador to Fiji, Jean-Francois Fitou says that this a token of appreciation.
“We know that these months have been difficult for the grassroots people.”
“Even people who had good jobs a few months ago have now lost their resources.”
He thanked the organization for the assistance that they have provided for
The French government today donating 500 large packs to 3 non-government organizations, who will be distributing them to those in immediate need.
The kits are quite unique as they have food supplies and a small warming device to heat the food.
Recipients of the food hampers include the Salvation Army who received 50 packs, 200 packs for the Being Helping Hands Fiji and 250 packs for Solo Moms.
The food hampers are military rations which should last a family between three to four days.
