There had been mixed reactions from members of the public towards the recent announcement made by the South Korean based airline – Korean Air regarding its Incheon – Nadi flight operations, which will stop from October 01, this year.

This was also part of the Parliamentary Discussion yesterday by the Minister Responsible for Civil Aviation and his Shadow Minister.

While many would’ve preferred Korean Air’s Nadi-Incheon services, the airline reveals the operation was making constant deficit and decreasing demand.

Recently, Korean Air made its announcement that they were going to suspend its Incheon – Nadi operations from October 01, this year, and will launch three new routes to China, as they find it “a more commercial benefit” operations.

Shadow Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka asked Government to help convince Korean Air to continue to provide its services into Nadi yesterday, in response, the Minister responsible for Civil Aviation, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, says it is the commercial decision of Korean Airlines to stop its operation to Fiji and they have to respect it.

Korean Air further says it will change passenger reservation well in advance to minimize customer inconvenience.
