Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts-Rosy Akbar says Government is working towards developing frameworks and effective policies that will further enhance the cultural sector.

Akbar was officiating at the Annual Entrepreneurship workshop held today at the Peninsula Hotel in Suva.

She also stressed the Ministry through the Department of Heritage will continue to collaborate with statutory bodies such as the Fiji Arts Council to deliver key deliverables that contributes to economic growth.

Fiji Arts Council Director-Peni Cavuilagi says about 350 Artisan members are  registered under the council and says the workshop will provide participants skills to upgrade their business skills and grow their own business.

Various CSO’s, Banks, and Government representative will be presenting during the sessions.

About 40 participants from the Heritage, Visual and Performing Arts are part of the 3-Day session, organized by the Fiji Arts Council in partnership with the Department of Heritage and Arts will focus on improving and enhancing the work of our Fijian artisans.
