Two records were broken in the Fiji Swimmings competition during the Easter weekend.
Nadi’s Taichi Vakasama broke two National Open Swimming Records at the Damador Aquatic Centre in the Men’s 100 metres and 200 metres Breastorke events.
Vakasama in the Men’s 100m Breastroke set a new record with a time of 1 minute 03 point 24 seconds.
In the 200 meters Individual Medley the new record is 2 minute 08 point 41 seconds.
He also set a new record in the 50 metres Backstroke with a time of 29.10s.
Meanwhile Rotuma won the swimming competition with 20 Gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals while Nadi and Suva finished in second and third place respectively.
