The Water Authority of Fiji has successfully completed repairs to the leaking 375mm wastewater rising main – located before the bridge to Denarau Island in Nadi.

A total of ten crew members from the WAF Wastewater Department in Nadi – mobilized to the leakage site at 5pm Tuesday, and excavation works began from 7pm onwards until the leaking pipeline was visible, and repair works began and were completed as of Wednesday morning.

During the repair period, a total of three bailing trucks were continuously bailing from the Regent Wastewater Pumping Station, this was done to minimize the flow into the pipeline, to allow repairs as well as to prevent leakages.

The WAF appreciates the cooperation from the various utilities such as the Fiji Roads Authority, Energy Fiji Limited and Telecom Fiji Limited – for their quick action and support.

The Authority would also like to thank Denarau Corporation Limited – for the assistance provided during the repair period.
