Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama in a parliament said that the 2020 – 2021 budget has been widely endorsed by the people of Fiji and international agencies.

Leader of Opposition Sitiveni Rabuka refuted these claims saying the budget is irresponsible, rudderless and deceitful, and will heavily burden the future generations under billions worth of debt.

Rabuka says the issue about the 2020- 2021 budget is that there is no clear assistance or funds set aside to help people.

He suggested government should have allocated funds to priority areas such as education.

Prime Minister debated that the budget is for the people and will ensure economic recovery.

Rabula claims the budget should focus on improving existing infrastructure.

He questioned the 7 million dollars allocated to construct the new Prime Minister Office saying the funds should be redirected.

The Prime Minister says government is ready to debate policies outline in the budget.
