A man in his 20s is in police custody for his alleged involvement in a burglary and an aggravated robbery case in Savusavu.

On the 12th of this month the suspect is alleged to have entered the home of a 60 year old woman at Oneva Estate and stole assorted jewellery worth more than Two hundred thousand dollars.

In the second incident an aggravated robbery case, the suspect is alleged to have robbed a foreign retiree residing in Savusavu on the 11th.

The victim had offered the suspect a ride into Savusavu town when he allegedly stole a bag from the back seat of the car which contained local and foreign currencies.

Investigators arrested the suspect who is alleged to have been involved in both cases yesterday and have made full recoveries of the jewelry allegedly stolen from the home of the 60 year old victim.

The suspect is in custody at the Savusavu Police Station.
