A 38-year-old man who is alleged to have forced a young girl into prostitution had appeared in the Suva High Court today for the continuation of his one week trial.
Josevata Werelagi, also known as Josi, is charged with one count of aggravated sexual servitude and three counts of domestic trafficking of children.
The 19-year-old complainant told the court that after engaging in sexual servitude in Rewa Street on the 18th of July 2015, she went to Josi’s home in Walia because she was afraid of him.
She said Josi’s family treated her like she was at home and he dressed her up to make her appear older.
The court heard that Josy made her wear a mini skirt and tight blouse then went for a stroll at the main road in Nausori at around 6 pm.
Afterward, they went to the bus stop in Samabula where Josy had arranged for the complainant to have sex with the driver of a Pajero.
She told the court that after going to the motel, the driver dropped her off at the same bus stop in Rewa Street and gave her money.
She said she followed Josy’s instructions because she was afraid of him and because of the money.
The trial continues tomorrow.
