The Fiji Women’s Rights Movement -Grow Inspire Relate Lead Succeed Club programme held a 3-day orientation workshop on Advocacy and girl’s Empowerment in Pacific Harbour this week.

15 participants including graduates from FWRM’s 3-year leadership program- GIRLS Theater, were part of the new cohort of the Club.

FWRM Executive Director Nalini Singh says this phase of the programme is focused on empowering girls to become stronger advocates on issues that are important to them.

She says its very important now because girls are marginalized and vulnerable in our communities but they are at the forefront of violence perpetrated against women and girls.

12-yer-old Razia Ali says she learned about what advocacy is and how it can help educate people to create change in people’s lives.

The program is supported by the Australian Government through the International Women’s Development Agency.
