There were 14 people charged with a total of 35 counts of separate incidents in November.
The offences were rape (25), abduction with intent to have carnal knowledge (3), attempt to commit rape (1), indecent assault (1), defilement (1) and sexual assault (4).
The following data is authorised for release by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and relates to the number of formal indictments (Information) filed in the High Courts of Fiji by the Director of Public Prosecutions throughout the month. This data is confined to incidents of serious sexual offences only.
There were 17 victims of whom 13 victims were under the age of 18 years. There was 1 male victim and 16 female victims.
There were 5 matters where the accused persons and the victims were related to one another.
A 58-year-old man was charged with the rape and indecent assault of his 4-year-old and 7year-old granddaughters while a 61-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 23year-old grandniece.
A 41-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 7-year-old stepdaughter and an 8year-old niece.
A 34-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 10-year-old cousin while a 36-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 41-year-old sister in law.
There was one incident where a 24-year-old man was charged with attempt to commit rape and sexual assault of a 16-year-old boy.
A 27-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl. The accused and the victim attended the same church.
In another incident, a 20-year-old man was charged with the rape of a 15-year-old girl. The accused and the victim were neighbours at the time of the incident.
A 24-year-old and an 18-year-old man were charged with multiple counts of rape of a 16year-old girl.

A 20-year-old man was charged with the rape of an 18-year-old girl.
A 27-year-old man was charged with the rape of a 40-year-old Australian woman, however, this matter was discontinued after the complainant returned to Australia and could not be contacted.
A 30-year-old man was charged with the rape of a 14-year-old girl. This case was discontinued after the complainant admitted that she consented to sex, while the charge of abduction with intent to have carnal knowledge and defilement against the accused continues in court.
Three cases were withdrawn after discontinuances (Nolle Prosequi) were filed due to complainant admitting to consent and after complainants could not be located or contacted.
