The Land Transport Authority took part in the World Environment Day activity at the Suva Foreshore yesterday which involved testing of vehicles smoke emissions.

Over 100 vehicles went through smoke emission checks conducted by LTA officers.

A number of vehicles tested were also found to be non-compliant in-terms of Euro IV smoke emissions and were referred to the LTA.
Enforcement officers advised drivers on the practical approach to be followed in keeping their vehicles compliant and to avoid emitting harmful substances into the atmosphere.

Drivers have been warned and verbally advised and enforcement operations will continue.
