Healey: FNU Enrollments Will Continue Despite Fall in 2015-16
The Fiji National University’s Annual Report shows there was a huge decrease in enrollments after 2014.
Compared to 2014, the enrollments decreased from 34524 to 29035 in 2015 and 25958 in 2016.
But the headcount picked up in 2017 by 1 107.
FNU’s Vice-Chancellor Nigel Healey says the increase in enrollments since 2017 will continue.
Healey says the University currently has over 20 000 students enrolled but can only accommodate 2 000 students in their hostels.
According to the report, the University’s financial position remains strong as at the end of 2017, with net assets worth $296 m and capital assets of $217m.
The University is working with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service to determine the performance of FNU graduates and how well the University is preparing them for the field.
Healey says they expect to receive the data by next month.
