Fiji Women MPs Visits NZ Prime Minister
As part of efforts to further boost their knowledge on Parliamentary procedures, eight women Members of Parliament will attend a week-long study tour in New Zealand from next Monday.
The women MPs are Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Local Government Premila Kumar, Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa, Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Rosy Akbar, Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Selai Adimaitoga, Ro Teimumu Kepa, Adi Litia Qionibaravi, Salote Radrodro and Lynda Tabuya.
Ms Haddad said the highlight of the trip would be “the rendezvous between the New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden with the women MPs”.
The study tour will feature workshops on effective use of traditional and social media, capacity-building, advocacy and effective party responsibilities, to name a few.
The women MPs are also expected to meet with Fiji’s High Commissioner to New Zealand Filimoni Waqabaca and his team.
