Fiji Mission Agape hope to retain Boys Primary School Division
Fiji National Schools Swimming Championships defending champions in the Boys Primary School Division, Fiji Mission Agape School hopes to defend their title again this year.
Assistant Coach Michelle Amberson says the team had been preparing for this year’s event since March, with a big squad of 49 swimmers.
“We started off with our preparations pretty early, we started preparing since March, where we ran a series of time trials and a swimming carnival,” Amberson says.
“Preparations has been going great, we have a big squad of 49 swimmers, so yeah, we’ re prepared well for this year’s competition.
The Nadi based school also came close to scooping the Girl’s in the Primary School level last year.
Amberson says she hopes that all her swimmers will do their best in this two-day event.
“Majority of our squad members are club swimmers, so we have swimmers participating in the butterfly backstroke, and freestyle, we also have quite a few swimmers who will be participating in the longer distances. We also have some newcomers as well who will be taking part,” she says.
“We hope to see our participating swimmers do their best.
“We are the defending champions for the boys in the National Primary School levels, and we came very close in scooping the National Primary Schools’ Girls Division title in last year’s competition.
“We have a strong squad and hope we perform to our best this year.”
