Fiji-Germany Relationship Remains Strong
The relationship between Fiji and Germany remains strong and is well established.
While speaking at the GIZ Pacific Islands New Year’s Cocktail reception, Foreign Affairs Minister Inia Seruiratu says he will continue to foster the strong relationship between the two countries through mutual interest.
GIZ’s partnership with the Pacific Secretariat Community is assisting regional government to cope with the impacts of climate change continues to be acknowledged with sincere appreciation. I also wish to acknowledge the various projects that have been commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and development.
Seruiratu adds Fiji has benefited from Germany’s assistance largely in the form of technology,climate change and environment adaptation, sustainable energy, forest conservation, marine and coastal biodiversity and low carbon sea transport.
He said the two countries friendship needed to be scaled up and urgent climate action had become much more apparent.
