Communications Officer Bail Extended

 In breaking news

A Communications Officer who is charged with allegedly importing marijuana, has had her bail extended by the Suva Magistrates Court.

The 52 year old has opted for a private counsel, Gavin O’Driscoll, to represent her case.

Deborah Singh has not given her plea as her new lawyer had not yet received the disclosures.

Defense lawyer O’Driscoll pointed out in court that there is an error in the bail undertaking which will be amended by the Prosecution.

O’Driscoll also informed the court that he will be writing to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The court ordered the prosecution to prepare the new bail forms.

Singh’s case has been adjourned to the 12th of September for plea.

Singh was arrested at the Suva Post Office upon receiving a consignment from the United States allegedly containing two candles containing marijuana.
